Time is ticking....we are close to the finish line.

Portrait photography is about capturing the essence, personality, identity and attitude of a person utilizing backgrounds, lighting and posing.

Your Assignment: 15  SHOTS. You are to use one model and take 15 different shots of that individual. I would like to see headshots ( close up), half body shots from different angles, full body shots and experimental shots. These are to be put into a slideshow for viewing. Experiment with Black and White, using filters, or even portrait mode on your phones. We will put these into a quick slideshow for viewing on Friday May 27.

This assignment is worth 30 marks. 20 marks for your portraits and 10 marks for your portraits put into a slideshow for viewing.

Tips:

  • plan your shots/shoot
  • be aware of where the light is ( best times to shoot dawn and dusk)
  • choose a good background
  • use a prop
  • shoot people in their element
  • create a rapport with your model and direct the shoot

Turning your best shots into an ad:
